The Honourable Supreme Court of India in its historical judgement in Prakash Singh Case delivered in September, 2006, directed all State Governments and Central Government to set up Police Complaints Authorities in all States. These are intended that would function as robust, independent mechanisms designed to make the police accountable and to deal exclusively with complaints of serious misconduct and dereliction of duty by the Police Officials.
Through this citizen portal, the complainant can register his complaint to the respective district office which will then forward same to the Police Station for verification. Further, the complainant can also lodge his complaint manually at the police station.
