The Honourable Supreme Court of India in its historical judgement in Prakash Singh Case delivered in September, 2006, AP State Government establish AP State Police Complaint Authority and District Police complainant authority. These are intended that would function as robust, independent mechanisms designed to make the police accountable and to deal exclusively with complaints of serious misconduct and dereliction of duty by the Police Officials.
